Another Dreamy Gelato Event Season

We are looking forward to another successful event season. Between April and October, we have the opportunity to cater our artisan gelato during unforgettable moments like weddings, corporate events, social events, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs. During the months when we are not catering, we are dreaming up new flavors.

Caramel Dulce de Leche Chocolate Chip is one of our new flavors. Many would say that caramel and dulce de leche are the same thing, but we would politely disagree. We hand make our caramel and dulce de leche differently. Our dulce de leche is made using an Argentinian recipe and our caramel is made using a Southern American recipe (definitely buttery). Combining the dulce de leche, 72% dark chocolate chips and caramel with the creamy vanilla gelato is pure perfection.

We have already served this new flavor during our April 4th wedding and it was a huge success.

A Dreamy Gelato Summer!!

This summer was wonderful and busy for Dreamy Gelato and Chocolates. While we have been serving our delicious desserts for over 6 years, we had several first this summer.
  • Our first gelato event on an elegant boat.
  • Our first gelato event with fireworks going off all around us.
  • Our first gelato event in a mansion. It was huge!
  • Our first gelato event where we ran out of gelato before the bride and groom had a serving. We are making a special batch for them to pick up. Our treat!
  • And the list goes on...............
As the fall begins, we look forward to serving our desserts at many more unforgettable events.

Several of the favorite flavors this summer were:

 Blood Orange Sorbet
 Cheesecake Gelato
 Burnt Caramel Gelato
Fresh Coconut Gelato

Wedding Event - Flavor of the Week

Tiramisu Gelato

Tiramisu is a intricate gelato to make from scratch. The combination of coffee/espresso flavor, mascarpone cheese, Marsala and chocolate can be tricky. I have found that our clients have their own preference on how they want it to taste. Some desire a more coffee/espresso flavor while other want a defined Marsala taste. The benefits of making our gelato from scratch means we can make it however our clients' desire.

Wedding Event - Flavor of the Week

Nutella Gelato

Many of our clients are nutella fans. They love nutella in a jar and it is difficult to get custom, handmade nutella gelato anyway. So when we make nutella gelato for our events, we expect to run out before the event is over.

Popular Holiday Flavor - Apple Cinnamon Gelato

The key to delicious Apple Cinnamon Gelato is patience and practice. I always start with my gelato base recipe and add a little cinnamon. Don't over do the cinnamon because the apple topping also has cinnamon. While the gelato base is churning in the machine, cut fresh apples (don't use canned apples). I prefer medium cut slices versus dicing the apples, but both work fine.

Making the apple topping:
  • Warm sugar and a little water in a pan until caramel consistency
  • Add butter and a little vanilla flavoring
  • Add apple slices to the mixture and continue to cook
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon
  • Cook until apples are soft, but still crispy

Let the apple topping cool. When the gelato base is finish churning, scoop it out and finish with the apple topping. A delicious holiday treat!!!
